A person who is studying or pursuing a particular field, can be called a student. Because, in language the word pupil means 'one who wants'.
In the study of Sufism, a person who begins to study in ketasawufan, apart from being called a salik, is also called a student.
In other words, a disciple in Islam is one who goes to great lengths to find a knowledge that is good and beneficial to all mankind.
He is like a mujahid fighting in the way of Allah. So, what is a good student like in the view of Islam ?

1. Humble
A student should not be arrogant towards others because of his knowledge. Such an attitude will only lead to ignorance, even though he already knows a lot of knowledge.
The knowledge that he knows is only a small part of the existing sciences. In this case, Allah SWT. said, "You are only given a little knowledge," (Surah Al-Isra [17]: 85).
In one narration it is stated, "A person who has considered himself knowledgeable, then he is a fool."
Rasulullah Saw. also tells us to seek knowledge throughout our lives. There is another narration which states, " Require knowledge from the mother's cradle to the burrow."
2. Respect and Respect Master
It should be when a student respects his teacher, even though the teacher is not a Muslim. The teacher is a symbol of the value of glory and honor.
Allah SWT. said of the knowledgeable people who believe, " Allah will raise several degrees of those who believe among you and those who have knowledge," (Surah Al-Mujadalah [58]: 11).
In his very popular saying, Rasulullah Saw. explain that people who are knowledgeable are the heirs of the prophets.
3. Good at Using Time
A good student knows when to review lessons, discuss, and study. He also knows how to rest which is justified by religion. He also knows when to sleep and wake up.
Time for him is life itself. Regular timing is the key to success.
From the regularity of Allah's verses, we also learn to live in an orderly manner. Allah SWT. said, “It is impossible for the sun to get the moon and the night cannot precede the day. Each of them circulates in its circulation line, " (Surah Ya Sin [36]: 40).
4. Not Wrong Associating
A student must be good at choosing friends to hang out with. It should only be that he got along with good friends who could help him in religious and world affairs.
He also kept aloof from the associations of wicked people who were wicked.
In general Allah has ordered this in the Quran. Allah SWT. said, "Be patient with those who call on their Lord in the morning and evening with the hope of His good pleasure. Do not turn your eyes from them (for) expecting the jewels of the life of this world. Do not follow people whose hearts We have neglected from remembering Us, and indulge their desires and it is their condition that crosses the line, " (Surah Al-Kahfi [18]: 28).
Rasulullah in his words also instructed him to choose good associations, because only such association will bring goodness.

Rasulullah Saw. said, "A person's religion depends on his friends. Therefore, one of you should see who is his friend. "
5. Be wise in using technology
This is one of the characteristics of good students in today's digital era. As early as possible he should be able to take advantage of various technological means, such as internet access, gadgets, social media, etc., even though they are not the work of Muslims.
This is confirmed by a hadith of the following Rasul: "Wisdom (knowledge) for believers is like lost property. Wherever he gets it, then he is the person who has the most right to have it, " (HR Ath-Thabrani).
It should be noted that all these means are value free, so that they can be used for purposes that are not justified by religion.
All passed away at the wearer. Hence, you need to use it wisely. Don't use technology to deviate. Take advantage of technology to learn and improve yourself.
